“The Toxic Avenger” is loosely based on Lloyd Kaufman’s 1985 movie of the same name, with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, and music and lyrics by David Bryan, of Bon Jovi. APAC is the first nonprofessional theater anywhere to be granted the performance rights. It will run on weekends at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu, Oct. 5 through 20.
Dale Ross will lead the live rock band assembled for the show, with Jerry Tracy as director, Boyum as vocal director and Lee Vinson as choreographer. Designers include Ariana Bassett, technical and sound; Bob Gage, lighting, and Gerald Lucena, set. Merry Harth, Cathy Riehle and Elizabeth Sharma will create the show’s makeup, hair, costumes and props.
